General Information

We encourage early registration, as each class is limited to the first 15 participants. You are welcome to register for multiple classes based on your interest. The program sessions will take place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A guided tour, art project, and lunch will be provided. We kindly request that parents or caregivers arrive promptly at 1:00 PM for pickup. We look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Program Overview

Participants will engage in guided tours, participate in hands-on projects, and 30 minute wellness session. 

Location: Grounds For Sculpture

Schedule: Mondays, 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Cost: $20 per session

Important Information

 - Prompt Pickup: Parents or caregivers are requested to ensure prompt pickup at 12:30 PM. Timely pickup is essential for continued program participation.

This is a pilot program that we are excited to grow! We have expanding our offerings to include more sessions with diverse interests in the fall and first  half of 2026. 


Session 1 – April 21st
Clay Creations – Participants will explore working with Air-Dry Clay and using color to enhance their designs. “Think like a sculptor” and make a work of art in clay inspired by imagination and creativity.


Session 2 – May 5th
Wire Sculptures - Students will be introduced to working with and shaping metal wire to create their own piece to take home. Participants will learn safety precautions and the properties of metal as a working material.


Session 3 – June 2nd
Botanical Reliefs - Use flowers and seeds to curate a botanical scene. Then create a mold to cast your botanical design in plaster. Explore the gardens at GFS to get inspired then return to paint your finished design to take home.


Session 4 – July 7th
Colorful Coasters – Use special inks to create a set of stunning tile coasters using vibrant colors that spread effortlessly across the surface, producing one-of-a-kind designs.


Session 5 – August 4th
Revealing Patterns in Nature with Oil Pastels - Following a tour of the Grounds students will explore techniques for blending and layering with oil pastels to create a mural of nature inspired patterns for a collaborative mural.

Creative Workshops for Adults with
Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD)

The Joshua Harr Shane Foundation is pleased to introduce Art Explorations at Grounds For Sculpture, a new program specifically designed for adults with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD) who have transitioned out of the school system. This initiative addresses the recognized need for engaging activities for adults over the age of 21, providing enriching experiences through art, education, and social engagement.
